Ascension students participate in two soccer leagues.
Soccer in the Coastal Catholic League
Skilled soccer players, both boys and girls in grades 6 through 8 are eligible to try out for this team. Tryouts are held in August and team play continues through September. A fee of $60 covers t-shirt, referee and league fees, trophies and sports banquet. This is a competitive team and not all players will play equally, however, coaches are there to develop the skills of all players and team members will be played as the situation warrants. This team does not have many practices and games are almost always played during the week.
Soccer in the Sunrise Youth Sports League
Boys and girls in grades K through 6 are eligible to play in this league. All games are played on Sundays. This is an instructional league with the primary focus on developing the child’s soccer skills and having fun. The season will start in late December with practices and games beginning over Christmas break. Each team will play 8 games and the season usually ends in February. Practices are usually held once a week and are set up by the volunteer coach. Each team will need 2 coaches and a team mom. The cost to play in this league is $60.
