Ascension students participate in two different Flag Football leagues. The first is open to boys in 6th through 8th grades. This flag football team competes against the other nine schools in the Coastal Catholic League. Tryouts are generally held late in August and league play begins in October and continues through November. The team practices twice a week and games are played on Saturdays as well as some weekdays. This is a competitive team and not all players will play equally, however coaches are there to develop the skills of all players. Coaches will do their best to play all team members as the situation presents itself. A fee of approximately $60 is charged to cover referee and league costs, t-shirt, trophies and awards banquet.
The second option is open to 5th and 6th grade boys and girls. These teams compete in the Space Coast Christian League and is comprised of local charter and Christian schools. Tryouts are usually held at the end of August and all games are played on Saturdays. Teams usually practice twice a week. A fee of approximately $60 is charged to cover referee and league costs, t-shirt, medals and awards banquet.
