Cheerleaders are young ladies who promote good sportsmanship and citizenship through their daily example. Members of the cheerleading squad will be expected to maintain a higher standard of behavior, dedication, and academic achievement throughout the entire year.
Cheerleading tryouts are held within the first month of school each year and open to all girls in grades 5 through 8. Girls cheer at flag football games, middle school girls and boys basketball games, and at each Pep Rally. Cheerleaders also encourage school spirit at occasional school and community functions.
Two teams of cheerleaders are chosen each year to cheer for Ascension Catholic School and teams practice a minimum of twice a week. Cheerleading is a year long commitment. There is a fee of approximately $30 to cover various costs and some additional costs for uniforms and shoes.
Parents should log in to the Ascension Edline page for current information on schedules, contact information and more.
All questions should be directed to the Athletic Director, Coach Ed Henry.
