Dear Parents- Once again, time flies! The year is As we write, our classes continue to fill with new students, who, to hear them tell it, are a bit frustrated by the FCAT frenzy and being taught to a test, instead of better using available instruction time. We anticipate the same number of classes at each grade as we have this year, with the exception of PreK-4 which may well require additional classrooms, due to our VPK Provider licensure. We are sending out a family survey in this Friday packet, similar to one sent out in January of 2007. While we asked some general questions, we are very interested in specific areas for improvement, so we can quickly address them over the summer. Please let us hear your ideas. Every suggestion is important. We are very pleased and proud to announce that, once again, Ascension has earned the designation as an Accelerated Reader Master School. In addition, our library has earned the honor for excellence as a Master Library! We continue to soar! As I close, I thank you for the opportunity to work with, and love, your children. Now that I have experienced most events and know our students, I am ready to lead the way toward even higher levels of academic excellence! Soarin’ - our program for gifted students, will begin next year with vigor and enthusiasm! What’s next? Sincerely, Doug Workman Principal
