The Ascension Chapter of the NJHS Chapter Standards

Seventh and eighth grade students are eligible to be members of the Ascension Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. This chapter is a service oriented organization. The criteria for membership are as follows:

  • The student makes a consistent effort to follow regulations in the Ascension Catholic School handbook.
  • The student shows courtesy to teachers, other students, and visitors.
  • The student is an active participant in the classroom.
  • The student renders service with enthusiasm.
  • The student participates in school activities.
  • The student is a model of Christian attitude.
  • The student exhibits good conduct.
  • The student maintains a semester GPA of 95.0 or higher with only one grade of C allowed.

Applicants must show strength in the areas of Christian attitude, service, scholarship and leadership. Grades alone do not guarantee membership. All applications are reviewed by the Ascension Faculty Council. All Faculty Council decisions are final. All NJHS Members must maintain the standards by which they were inducted. The Ascension Faculty Council regularly reviews NJHS membership. Questions regarding NJHS may be directed to Ms. Hillmann at 254-1595
