ASCENSION CATHOLIC SCHOOLBINGO SUPPORT PROGRAM 2008 - 2009 |
Ascension Catholic Church, through the Ascension Parish Bingo Program, provides substantial financial support to Ascension Catholic School. These funds subsidize the current tuition rates. This equates to tuition savings of approximately $300.00 per child per year. *NOTE* If you have multiple children enrolled, this savings is in addition to the multi child discount.
In accordance with the Ascension Catholic School Board, each family with a registered child (ren) at Ascension Catholic School is required to support the Ascension Parish Bingo Program in the following manner:
· A Bingo Support Program Contract will be distributed to each family giving you the option of working Bingo, or paying the $300 assessment. One contract must be turned in for each registered family. This must be signed and returned to the school office by the date indicated. For returning students: Failure to return this form on time (by April 1st, 2008) will result in late fees. A mandatory cake payment is required when submitting your bingo contract. ($5 if you have one child at ACS, $10 if you have more 2 or more registered children at ACS.) Checks should be made payable to “Ascension Home and School Association”; marked “bingo cake” in memo field. Contracts turned in late will be charged double the cake payment at Roll Call.
Should you elect not to participate in the Ascension Bingo Support Program, your tuition will be assessed an additional $300.00 PER child registered at ACS, payable on or before roll call in August, or if registering after roll call, prior to your child’s first day of attendance at ACS.
· If you elect to work Bingo and you have one child registered at ACS - you are required to provide one bingo worker for each of 2 nights and a $5.00 mandatory cake payment. (cash or check made payable to “Ascension Home and School Association” marked “bingo cake” in the memo field.) At the completion of your obligation you will also be awarded 20 volunteer service points.
· If you elect to work Bingo and have 2 or more children registered at ACS - you are required to provide one bingo worker for each of 2 nights and a $10.00 mandatory cake payment. (cash or check made payable to “Ascension Home and School Association” marked “bingo cake” in the memo field.)
· The “Bingo Year” runs June 1st, 2008 (prior to the start of the new school year) thru May 31st, 2009. We schedule 8th, 7th and 6th graders during the summer, so that they have met their bingo obligation prior to the busy school year and other fund raising requirements. . Parents with children in those grades will have both of their dates scheduled with that grade. Then we start with pre-K on up to 5th grade.
· A schedule will be distributed to each returning family reflecting your assigned date(s) in the spring before the new Bingo Year starts. You may be scheduled on a Monday or a Thursday, the current BINGO nights. All families who registered late or during the summer, will be given dates at Roll Call and a finalized “Master” schedule will be out shortly there after.
· Failure to meet your Bingo commitment will result in an assessment of your tuition based on the current subsidy generated from Bingo. The current rate is $300.00 per child.
· You are ultimately responsible to know your date(s). The BINGO schedule is posted on the BINGO Bulletin Board (in the school hallway outside the cafetorium across from the office) and on the ACS website at www.ascensioncatholicsch.org Follow the “Activities & Events” link on the left, then the “Bingo” link and click on the “Bingo Worker Schedule”. Both of these areas will also have the Bingo Sub List and an area for Swap postings.
· If you have a conflict with your assigned date, it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement or switch with another family. These changes MUST be relayed to the Bingo Chairperson PRIOR to the scheduled work date, in order for responsibility for that date to be changed. For your convenience a Bingo Swap Section is located on the Bingo Board in the school hall outside the cafetorium. It will give you an opportunity to advertise your request for a swap. Remember to check the board for others looking to trade nights. We will also post your request for a swap if you email the schedulers at bingoschedulers@yahoo.com and gives us your information. We will update the online swap board once a week as needed. You may also hire a sub to work for you. There is a sub-list posted on the Bingo Board and online at www.ascensioncatholicsch.org.
· Working Bingo is not restricted to parents or guardians. Other family members as well as friends may fulfill your family's obligation. Be advised: NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS PERMITTED IN THE BINGO HALL - PER FLORIDA STATE LAW!
· To ensure your account is credited, be sure to sign in when you arrive to work Bingo. If someone is working for you, he/she should sign his/her name next to your name so that you will be credited. (For more details, refer to the Bingo Worker Responsibilities Sheet posted online and handed out with your registration packet.)
· If you miss your mandatory bingo date, you may have an opportunity to make up your bingo obligation, schedule permitting. However, you will be charged a $50.00 fee payable to Ascension Home and School Association, which must be paid prior to receiving your make-up date. Failure to pay this fee will result in no make-up date, and therefore an automatic tuition assessment of $300.00 for each child at ACS.
· Should you wish to work additional Bingo nights to earn school service points (20 points per evening) you must call the Bingo chairpersons to coordinate an available date. If you just show up, you will be sent home. This is separate from and in addition to the mandatory work night(s). Working a night for points does not fulfill your mandatory dates.
· School service points may be earned (5 points/hour) by working the Bingo Snack Bar from 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM OR being a Bingo Caller, and working one of two shifts. (5:45 PM – 8:15 PM or 8:15 PM – 10:45 PM.) Call the Bingo Chairperson for further details. You may NOT work the snack bar in lieu of working the floor on your mandatory dates.
· Two-layer cakes are always needed and may be dropped off in the small church hall any Monday or Thursday. Cakes are worth 5 service points each and must be a 2-layer or Bundt type cake. No brownies or cupcakes please! Be sure to include your name to receive point credit and label the type of cake made.
· Worker hours are from 5:45 PM to approximately 10:30 PM both Mondays and Thursdays. Wear comfortable shoes and sign in at the small Church Hall where the Bingo player packets are sold. You will receive proper instructions upon arrival. See also the BINGO WORKER RESPONSIBILITY sheet for additional info.
