Ascension Catholic School Scrip Policies

1.  Ascension School offers a tuition credit for families participating in the Scrip Program.  Scrip costs you

nothing to use.  You pay face value for you gift cards and use them for everyday purchases as well as

gifts.  At the same time, you will be earning credit for yourself and helping our school.

2.  Our school receives an average of 2-20% with every purchase of Scrip and you in turn will receive

1-10% (50% of the discount) in the form of a tuition credit that can be used at either Ascension or

Melbourne Central Catholic High School.  Anyone (grandparents, friends, neighbors, etc.) can buy

Scrip and designate it for your family.

3.  Our credit year runs from April 14-March 30.  In the beginning of March, if you have earned $25 or more

in credit, you will receive a statement showing the amount of your tuition credit and where you want it

applied.  Besides using it towards tuition, you can choose to donate "your credit" to another school

family.  Money not designated will be placed into the school's fundraising account.

4.  An enrollment form must be completed, for all families who use the Scrip program.

5.  SCRIP certificates are non returnable.

6.  Delivery of Scrip orders: The purchaser and a member of the SCRIP committee will verify orders.  The

purchaser’s signature on  the order form indicates an authorized person has received the order in its entirety.  In the

unlikely event there is a discrepancy in the SCRIP order, purchaser will contact an Ascension SCRIP Chairperson

      within 7 days.

7.  Currently, payments are accepted by cash, checks, and money orders made payable to Ascension Home and School.

The checks are not tax deductible because the purchaser received dollar for dollar value.

 8.  A non-sufficient funds (NSF) check will result in the following steps:

-When the treasurer receives notice of a check with insufficient funds for a financial institution, Scrip

coordinators will be notified and only cash will be accepted from those identified.

-If within two weeks, the check has not cleared, then a reminder letter signed by the Treasurer will be sent to

those identified requesting the amount be paid, offering the ability to arrange payment with Home and

School.  A $5 bank fee will be assessed and future Scrip purchases can be purchased for cash only.

-If a second notice is received for the same check, then a second reminder letter will be sent with the same

text as the first letter and additional text stating that a meeting with the Principal will be set up within two

weeks of mailing if payment is not received.  The Treasurer and the Home and School President will sign

 this letter.

-Any disputes between parties should be brought to the attention of the Principal and a meeting will be set up

 to discuss resolution.

9.   The Scrip certificates/cards are just like cash.  Neither Ascension Catholic School or the Scrip Committee

Chairpersons will accept responsibility for lost, stolen, misplaced, or expired cards or certificates.

10.  The Scrip can be used just like cash at the participating retailers.  Scrip cards have varying expiration dates

from three months to one or two years.  Some Scrip cards have no expiration dates.  Some retailers limit the

amount of change that can be given.  Most simply keep a balance on the card until it zeros out.  It is the

responsibility of the purchaser to keep track of the expiration date of the certificates.  Information can be found on

the Great Lake Scrip Website www.glscrip.com

11.  Our Scrip program is solely for fundraising and tuition assistance purposes and is not intended  to endorse

        companies or  products.
