Tuition Rates for Students in Grades K-8

Tuition rates are available through the school office.  Please contact us for complete information.  We do accept Step Up for Students scholarships and McKay scholarships, if we are able to provide the needed academic and behavioral support with the resources we have available.

The goal of the admission process at Ascension is to attempt to ensure that we are able to service the needs of all students and provide each student with the best education possible. For this reason, all students applying for admission to Ascension must go through the admissions process.

The process begins by having the parents or legal guardians:

  • Fill out the admission form,
  • Provide 2 years of report cards (or the latest report card for rising first graders), which should indicate promotion or retention
  • Provide 2 years of test scores
  • Provide any IEP or 504 plan the student may have
  • Provide any other paperwork related to social development (if appropriate).

This file then goes to the admissions committee, who looks at the needs of the student and the resources available to students in that grade to determine if Ascension can meet those needs. The committee then decides if the student will be admitted.

As openings become available, the following criteria will be used to accept students to Ascension Catholic School:

  1. currently enrolled students
  2. siblings of Catholic enrolled students
  3. staff member’s children
  4. registered supporting* parish members
  5. siblings of non-Catholic enrolled children
  6. registered members of other Catholic parishes
  7. **others

*Supporting means a registered parish member who attends Mass regularly and  is involved in the parish stewardship program of time, talent, and treasure.  Treasure means the regular use of envelopes (identifiable contribution).

**Students with special needs, will be accepted following the guidelines above IF there are resources available in the needed support programs.

School admission policies are determined by the pastor and school principal in consultation of the local school board and in accordance with Diocesan Policy.  Students who transfer from home schooling must provide evidence of academic achievement. If the student cannot provide adequate evidence, the school shall administer appropriate testing to determine grade level assignment.

A student’s age is an entrance requirement for students in prek 3 – grade 1:

Pre-Kindergarten 3: 3 years of age on or before September 1
Pre-Kindergarten 4: 4 years of age on or before September 1
Kindergarten: 5 years of age on or before September 1
First Grade: 6 years of age on or before September 1 and successful completion of Kindergarten.

All students are admitted on a probationary basis of one trimester.  Ascension is a private, Catholic School,  that you chose to enroll your child in.  Therefore, the philosophy and discipline of our school must be accepted if a child is to remain a student.  We reserve the right to request that your child pursue an education elsewhere if he/she refuses to accept our rules and regulations. Tuition for a student who has been asked to withdraw will be prorated and any tuition paid by the family in advance will be refunded. Other fees, including registration will not be refunded.

Please call the school directly for information regarding tuition rates. There may be discounts available for parishioners and/or multiple child discounts. Call 321-254-1595 for the school office.
